New Year Self-care Jump Start, Day 17

Good morning, beauty! Today’s to-do combines two of my favorite things: you getting pampered and you asking for help.


Asking for help is hard. But it’s so primary to caring for ourselves well. So often the women I work with are the caretaking people, always trying to help and make life nice for those around them. It can also be tempting to just do everything yourself because then you know it will get done right. But if you’re doing too much and asking for too little it’s a fine line between being caring and being a bit of a martyr.

Before life gets too exhausting with all you’ve got to do today, please request room service.

This can look like asking a partner to bring you coffee in bed, or calling delivery so you don’t have to cook. You could also pre-cook a little something and set yourself out a breakfast tray this evening so that all you have to do tomorrow is take the things you need from the fridge and head over to your bed or sofa to relax for your first meal of the day. Sure you’re still doing it yourself, but it’s Past You doing the favor for Current You, which is a start.
