New Year Self-care Jump Start, Day 12

1 3

Good morning, beauty! It’s time to sing or chant again. Today’s one-minute mantra is a nice one to use if ever you are feeling insecure about your ability to make the right choice. It’s a good one to sing or say or think if you are struggling with will power issues or cravings.

We’re all only human, and sometimes it can be very hard make the right choices around things that may be harmful to us. When faced with the choice between our healthy body and a cigarette or another coffee or two or three cookies too many, it can be all too easy to react like a 6-year-old whose mother has left the room. Grab ‘em while you can! No one will know! Except that you will, and you’ll feel poorly later. We can learn the coping skills that will allow us to be our own nurturing wise mother, the one who knows best and will help us make the right choices for ourselves and our health. That wise person is in each of us. She’s in you. Your best, wise self knows how to choose what serves you and to say nope to what doesn’t. This mantra will help bring her out.

12mantra

For this one I made up a little song. The full version goes,

I trust myself.
I trust myself.
I trust myself to choose what’s right.
I trust myself.
I trust myself.
I trust myself to choose what’s right for me.

You don’t have to sing it, aloud or in your head, but I find it helps me remember. If the tune is a catchy enough ear worm I could find myself repeating my mantra several times a day, and you may too.

Repeat your mantra all day, any time of day to build deep trust in yourself. And leave a comment to share if and how the mantra impacts your day.

Warmly,
Kirsten
